Agree that Europe in shoulder season is quite different from the tourist season. We enjoyed meandering around the Peloponnese in May/June. Our travel was very spontaneous. We were the only people staying in one hotel. Repeatedly we were advised never to come in July and August as too crowded, expensive and hot.
Loving all of this. I have a soft spot for Spain so I’m happy to read your impressions of its geography and culture. Looking forward to the rankings!
